Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci (Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej, now Onesti) Romanian Gymnast born November 12, 1961. She was the first Romanian to receive a score of 10 for an Olympic event. Bela Karrolyi was a Romanian gymnastics instructor, who later became the coach for Comaneci, first discovered Comaneci at the age of six. She first competed at the national junior championships in Romania in 1969, she was 13th. And in 1970, won. In her first international competition in 1972 at a pre-Olympic Junior event for countries of the communist bloc she was awarded three gold medals. Then in 1973 and 1974, she was an all-around junior champion. In her debut as a Senior in the year 1975, she defeated Russian Lyudmila Turkishcheva. The five-time European champ winning four golds and a silver. The first female to ever successfully complete the backwards double salto after dismounting from an unbalanced parallel bar. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. When she was a teen Carol Wayne started working in the entertainment field by performing in the form of figure skater. Together with her brother Nina Wayne she was part of the traveling show Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne, born in Chicago Illinois US on 6 September 1942. Carol ventured into the entertainment business during her teenage years. The path she took to success began with her joining Nina Wayne to perform in Ice Capades, a traveling spectacle of entertainment. The shows featured the ice skating of which was followed by musical performances.
