This is a reference to the nickname given to her father during World War II who also participated in the Goldsboro B52 crash. Tulloch was named Bitsie at the time she started to act. It was her name until 2017 after which she changed to Elizabeth. When I first meet someone, I introduce myself to them as Bitsie. It was a good idea as I entered my 20s, and had just beginning my acting career. Currently, im still in my thirties. I thought it would be an excellent idea to revisit and recreate Elizabeth. It hadn't even occurred to me until I began filming. The producer said Hey we noticed it was Elizabeth as we filled out your legal papers. What are your thoughts on this billing method? And I just thought about it and I spoke to my agent as well as my manager. They said Yes, that's the best concept. As you get old enough, you should take a step forward. And Bitsie is obviously a very adorable name. Its cutesy. That's the whole thing that was said. Its not like I introduce myself as Elizabeth today. For future billing. The ancestry of Tulloch is Scottish but with Spanish influences. Tulloch says her birthplace was in Spain though it isn't her native language. Her paternal grandparents hail from Renfrewshire as does her grandfather's. Her ancestors are around Kirkwall located in Scotland. She told BBC News that the Tullochs were in the US around 1880 and they arrived with the Kerrs in the year 1900.
