Katherine Heigl reveals the ways that growing up living in a white bubble affected the way she raised her multiracial family. She is the "Firefly Lane" and "Grey's Anatomy" star shared in a recent interview she was told that when it came to skin tone, it didn't matter to her how she looked like however, after speaking with her older sister whom she adoptive to South Korea, she realized how differently society viewed each of both. "I I asked my sister Meg whether she'd been treated in one manner when she was going out with us parents and in a different manner in the time she was on her own without anyone else. She replied "Oh Yes, all the occasion!" That made me realize that I was naive," Heigl said to Parents. She said that she was frustrated however she was also aware of that she had to channel this anger to help her daughters. The couple, who are married to Josh Kelley and their son Joshua Bishop Kelley Jr., 4, have been married for 13 years. They adopted Nancy Leigh from South Korea aged 12 in 2009, and then Adalaide aged 8 who is now older and was Black in 2012.
